In a world with apps like Yelp and Google at our fingertips, discovering some of the greatest restaurant comes in an easily accessible manner. Whenever my family/friends and I are looking for a place to go on while on vacation or just a Saturday night, these kind of apps and resources come in handy. However, my favorite restaurant would have to be The Cheesecake Factory. Specifically the one located within the Shops at Riverside.
This has grown to be one of my favorite restaurants locally because it's a convenient place where have many of my friends and I meet up to catch up. Also, we tend to celebrate many milestones at the restaurant such as birthdays, holidays, and etc. Ideally, it's a great place for late lunches on weekends to family dinners. One may consider its prices higher than a common franchise. However, once you have a meal inside one can surely understand all the hype. Especially considering how there are shops like "Bloomingdales" and "Barnes and Noble" right next to the restaurant. Which is convenient considering it's a great way for some people so pass time.
The history of the chain started in Detriot, Michigan during the 1940's. Evelyn Overton found a recipe in the local newspaper that went on to inspire her original cheesecake. She decided to open up her own cheesecake shop after receiving such positive feedback. Unfortunately, she gave up her dream to raise her children. However, she did not completely give up her dream and continued to make cheesecakes in her apartment while supplying them locally. They all moved to LA in 1972, her husband Oscar and her made one last attempt at opening their bakery which turned into the chain that exists today.
