While I did take glory in the spirit of Christmas during winter break, there were several other events that managed to make it memorable. For instance, one of my very good friends never had the opportunity of seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center and we ended taking upon ourselves to visit it. Prior to visiting the tree we consumed ourselves with the artsy ambiance of Greenwich Village, Chinatown while having dinner in SoHo. While getting lost, we discovered the restaurant Saluggi's where dinner was quite satisfying. On the way home, we ventured into Times Square.
Following our trip into NYC, was Christmas Eve. Most of which I ended up alone and sickly while my family attended a Christmas Eve get together. However, with half of my family coming home early, we ended up indulging ourselves in episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Then we ended off the night in board games while listening to iTunes radio.
Another significant event of my break had to be reuniting with my friends that attend college while they returned for break. They brought back items with each of their school's logo on them which was quite the surprise, especially considered they all planned while so far away. Also quite surprising since they lack planning skills in general. However, I was surely thankful to have them home. It managed to no longer make me feel empty with them back. All in all, the only downsides was having my two best friends away overseas. Yet, my friends home from college managed to bring my spirits up.
